the only thing you can do is ensure you have a poerpr tune up. your on-board engine management does the rest. for this reason, you can't tune for hills, unless you do some engine/management modifications. and there are no changes that you can make to your management system that will give you more power at that low rpm.IMO you need to down shift.1-2 thousand rpm is below your power curve. not even in full spark advance. shifting at 2.5+ on a hill would be best. i know it might seem a little high, but that's where these motors run best. at or above full (timing) advance.on the flat, i take advantage of economy by keeping my rpms down, higher gear, but the second i hit a hill i make sure i'm above 2.5 if you live/drive where there are hills, you'll prolly notice a slight increase in fuel economy.keep in mind, it's a matter of power to vehicle weight ratio vs road grade. so each car will be different.hope this helps – Fauzan 07-Jul-2015
Ok, here is what Hamilton thinks: I don't relaly think much of it to be honest. I did the best job I could under extremely difficult circumstances with the rain, and I did the best job I could to stay out of everyone else's way. It's the first real situation I've been in in the wet behind the safety car having to manage a gap between the guy in front and look out for everyone around you. Your visor's completely fogged up, your mirror's completely fogged up, you're just scared of crashing into someone else, you're just trying to get out of the way and they're trying to put blame on me. If you look, I did it every lap, that's the line I raced on because it was the dry line and that's probably why I won. There was less water there but I always caught the pace car up. I pulled up alongside him, obviously I can't overtake him so I braked which was also giving me more heat in my brakes and my tyres. I waited for him to go away and all of a sudden Mark appeared up alongside me, I decided to accelerate and the next thing I hear is a big thud. He's allowed five car lengths behind me, I don't know why he was so close. I had a good weekend, I don't think I put a foot wrong and I didn't do anything to harm anyone else or put anyone else in danger but I've come away to China and no doubt I'm going to be punished for something. I just think it's a real shame for the sport. Formula One is supposed to be about hard competition, fair and that's what I've tried to do this year, just be fair. If I've been in the wrong, I've been the first to put my hand up, or apologise at least, and I don't mind being given a penalty but there's been some relaly strange situations this year where I'm made to look the bad person or by the looks of it this weekend could be given a penalty. We finished fourth today, which maybe is not the best poioistn we could have got, but we can be quite happy and starting fourth is not a disaster, said Vettel, who starts three places ahead of Alonso. There are more people behind us than in front. I'm happy with fourth and there are plenty of opportunities for tomorrow. The second lap I was pretty happy, but unfortunately I wasn't quick enough. I was probably a bit shy here and there and dropped a bit of time. Mark had a good run in Q3 and on top of that the McLarens have been very quick all weekend, so it's something we expected going into qualifying. Alonso's team-mate Felipe Massa will start right behind Vettel, but the world champion said he had no worries about what the Brazilian could do. I'm not worried, he said. We have mirrors in the car but hopefully we won't have to use them. As soon as the lights go off we will try to attack the guys in front. On top of that there might be some things happening tomorrow, different to what the weekend has been so far, with the weather forecast being at is. I'm not looking left and right, to be honest. To be honest, I made a mistake in the first run of Q3, but not because this is the last race or whatever. I was pushing and that's what I try to do all the time. I made a mistake and lost the momentum. I knew that I had one run left and it was quite important.
