Ubisoft's next-gen racer gets taken for a somewhat disappointing test drive. What I can tell you, though, is that The Crew feels like a fairly typical Ubisoft Reflections game. Though development is being led by Ivory Tower (formed by previous members of the Test Drive Unlimited team), there are clear influences from co-developer Reflections' previous work, from the way The Crew looks, right down to the way it handles. The engine feels like a next-gen extension of Driver: San Francisco, spruced up with superior lighting and stupidly-shiny car models, but with a similar sense of flui..

News sourced from: VideoGamer.com
Open-world racer hits Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in early 2014. Currently in development at Driver: San Francisco developer Ubisoft Reflections and Ivory Tower, The Crew is an open-world driving game set across various US cities and featuring a persistent online world where any other car could be an online opponent.Players will be able to team up with friends to take over cities such as Miami and Las Vegas, while avoiding the authorities policing the streets. Here’s what we know via an alleged playtester of the game: - The Crew is expected to play similar to Ubisoft Reflections most recent racer Driver: San Francisco, with a semi-arcade style of racing. - As with Driver: San Francisco, The Crew will be open world with the ability to travel between New York City and Los Angeles, though the scale of these cities has been reduced. - It is not clear whether you will travel through wilderness..

News sourced from: Gamekicker.com
Game Informer - During Ubisoft's E3 2012 press conference, the publisher proudly revealed the next entry in the Driver series. This was the part of the show where I slipped out for a bathroom break, but I should've been paying close attention. I'm constantly on the hunt for new gameplay experiences and the last place I would look is the racing genre. I like arcade racing games fine but didn't give Driver: San Francisco a second look until last year when Jeff Cork said "No, seriously, you should really play Driver: San Francisco."

News sourced from: N4G.com
A source details that the project is a "realistic title, possibly being positioned against Forza and Gran Turismo." The Crew is expected to hit the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and current generation consoles.
Driver series developer Ubisoft Reflections is working on a new racing game called The Crew, The Examiner reports. Citing an unnamed source, Examiner says the game is an all new racing franchise that is intended to be a "realistic title, possibly being positioned against Forza and Gran Turismo." Reflections has been out of the racing game circuit for the past couple years after the woefully underappreciated Driver: San Francisco failed to gain traction.
Apart from some gorgeous concept art, some game design mock-ups and a look at its Unity-powered innards, we haven't really seen much of The Realm. You'd be forgiven for thinking it was a brand new project, but planning for the point-and-click adventure began over a year ago. Art studio Atomhawk Design, which has produced art for games like Mortal Kombat, Dead Island, Driver: San Francisco and Enslaved, began working on the concept for The Realm 18 months ago. Meanwhile, Lantern Interactive technical director Tom Szirtes was looking for a new project. "I met up with [Atomhawk creative direc..

News sourced from: Joystiq
D Pad D Bags Write "Boy oh boy! We got a BioShock Infinite discussion for the ages (maybe spoilers? I, McAnus, have no ideaI didnt play the game). Kyle finally finished Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and then is enthusiastic about the Metal Gear Solid V announcement and all the second and third hand rumors from the internet. We take a trip to Colbys Literary Corner, where Anthony makes a book recommendation. Anthony also recommended Driver: San Francisco, an oft overlooked good game. The show is rounded out in the grand tradition and pageantry of our monthly Video Game Fantasy League waive..

News sourced from: N4G.com
Aggregate news: Doom 3 Less Than Half Price on EU PSN

Sony has announced the seventh of the deals it has offered as part of its “PlayStation Store Egg Hunt”, the Easter-themed sale for the EU PSN that started on March 27. Each offer lasted for 48 hours, and this one is no different. Until 11:59am on April 10, you can get a digital copy of Doom 3 for €17.99 (or £13.99), where before it apparently would have cost you a whopping €39.99 (or £29.99). For comparison, you can get a physical copy of Doom 3 – BFG Edition for PS3 for around £15 on some online stores. For Xbox 360 it's even cheaper. ..

News sourced from: Gamekicker.com
Tom Jubert, game writer on projects like FTL, Penumbra, Driver: San Francisco and many others, has previously impressed us with his self-developed Ir/rational games. Formed from his love of philosophy, and a desire to spread the concepts of clear thinking, the logical deduction game mixes straight thinking with smart writing, and just enough humour. The good news is there’s to be a sequel, Ir/rational Investigator, heading to PC if only it can be rescued from the needless wasteland of the awful Greenlight.
PlayStation Europe is getting in on the spring sale action by sweetening the prices of many PSN games, with some tasty-looking savings to be found until April 9. There more than a half-century of discounted games on offer, although only one specifically for Vita: Urban Trial Freestyle, down from €9.99/£7.99 to €6.99/£5.49.That said, with Persona 4 Golden only reaching the continent last month, Europeans may be tempted to summon returns to Persona 1-3, all discounted and playable on the Vita as well as the PS3 and PSP. Persona 3 Portable is half price at €14.99/&po..

News sourced from: Joystiq
