Welcome to the new SimRacingWorld Website - the Simulation and Racing Game Resource.

Regular visitors will notice we have undergone a major revamp of the site and I'd like to take the time to explain some of the new features of the site.

- Design & Homepage

It's been almost 7 years since we last relaunched the site and as you can imagine we'd outgrown it. Content had become difficult to find and the site unwieldly to use. With the new design we've aimed to make it much easier to find exactly what you are looking for in less time with a better design and navigation flows.

The homepage has been completely relaunched with a "portal" feel which allows you, the user to quickly see what has changed and been updated.

- News

You may have noticed our "aggregate news" / "latest news from around the web". No web-site can hope to ever post all the news about all the racing games, and so we have launched our unique aggregate news service which crawls the web to find relevant news that you may be interested in quickly without having to browse many different sites. We believe this should prove popular amongst users, and we will be developing this and adding new features as time goes on.

- Forums

We have updated our forum software to the latest "phpBB3" which offers extra functionality and a clear design that is easier to navigate.

- Game Profiles

On our popular game profiles we have now added embedded video content (so that you no longer have to download them) as well as an "encyclopedia" where you can see what other people have written about the game. You can also find all the latest "aggregate news" for that title.

I think this covers most of the major changes we have made to the site so far (you will find many more "minor" changes), we will be developing it much more over the coming weeks with some exciting new features.

We would really appreciate any comments you have about the new design and features on this forum thread.

Finally I would like to thank John Slade for putting countless hours of effort into the new site, both with what you can see as well as what you can't.

Today we have been able to bring our forums back online with the latest PHPBB3 software. I'd like to apologise for the downtime over the last week - it was something largely out of our control.
