RACE: The WTCC Game Preview @ IGN
Reviews/Previews | RACE: The WTCC Game | By Paul on 15 November 2006 00:59
IGN have posted a preview of RACE: The WTCC Game:
Speaking of which, the layout, length and even the surface of each circuit has been accurately modelled too, right down to road markings. As in real life skilled drivers can use the camber of a bend to pull their car in closer to the apex, but likewise if you overcook it your tyres will slide out if they hit the white lines around the edge of the circuit - they don't provide as much grip as the tarmac - and cause the rear end to snake around. Similarly push the accelerator too hard and you'll spend most of your time in the gravel traps. In that respect, less is definitely more in RACE, and you're far more likely to inch up the field by braking early into corners and then accelerating heavily out the other side. You can read the full preview here and don't forget to view our game profile.
RACE: WTCC Game To Be Available on Steam!
Game News | RACE: The WTCC Game | By Paul on 15 November 2006 00:51
I would never have thought I would be reporting this for a racing game, but it has been announced that RACE: The WTCC Game will also be available to download on Steam (those familiar with the Half Life series will understand what Steam is), as well as in retail stores for its release on November 24th.
Steam (http://www.steampowered.com) is a system that allows you to purchase and download games rather than having to buy them from a retail/internet outlet. It also manages multiplayer aspects of that game and allows developers to issue compulsory patching through it.
