Significant Chequered Flag News
Community News | Microprose F1GP | By Barrie on 6 November 2005 23:59
There has been a major new development in the Chequered Flag project which promises much for the future. A third developer has joined on a part-time basis, and the individual is none other than Rene Smit, co-developer of Gp2lap and Gpxpatch as well as numerous other past software projects. More information on this new significant development is available on the Chequered Flag website. The news page for this site can be reached here
In other developments, I came across a few tools and some game content this week on other sites, some that I hadn't seen previously on the F1GP/WC section of the Simracingworld website. Of those which are not available here, most of the functionality found in the tools can be achieved by using some of the major editors on this site. However, I found two files that I deemed relevant to upload here. Therefore, the following files are now available.
Backgrnd - An editor for changing the backgrounds of F1GP/WC tracks. Available here
1996 Game Helmets - A set of helmets for the game menu based on Silverstone 1996. Available here
I'll update this news page as more information is available on all F1GP fronts. In the meantime, let everybody know what you think of the new developments in the forum :)

GT Legends Review @ GamesRadar
Reviews/Previews | GT Legends | By Paul on 6 November 2005 00:31
GamesRadar have posted a review of GT Legends giving it 8/10:
Legend' faces becoming the most overused suffix since 'uncut', but here it means something. Many of GTL's cars are actually legends: the 'Batmobile' BMW 3.0 CSL, the Sweeny-esque Jaguar Mk II, the Mini Cooper... Further, these are recreations of individual cars, complete with all their imperfections. Each of the 90-plus variations of 25 core models is a sensation to behold; and with SimBin wielding the spanners, their dynamics are no less impressive. You can read the full review here and don't forget to view our game profile.
Cross Racing Championship Review @ GameSlave.co.uk

GameSlave.co.uk have posted a review of Cross Racing Championship:
The vehicles you get to drive look spot on. Trees, foliage, various barns and quaint little villages are all in 3D but every now and again you do spot the occasional flat two dimensional image which did look out of place. There are a lot of other positives though, so it is pretty easy to over look the odd 2d image. You can read the full review here and don't forget to view our game profile.
