FlatOut Review @ SimHQ

SimHQ have posted a review of FlatOut:
The driving model is arcade but surprisingly I find that it fits the game near perfectly. FlatOut is not intended as a very serious driving simulation. The emphasis is rather on racing the other cars and racing the tracks. Good driving habits like choosing the right line and maximizing exit speed will definitely help you, but the cars are easy to control and to throw around. I've tried modding the physics with one of the tweaks that are available on the net, to make the handling more sim-like but must confess to preferring the default pro-handling mode. You can read the full review here and don't forget to view our game profile.

GameSpy have posted a preview of GTR - FIA GT Racing Game:
Though it was quite hardcore back when it was a mod, the association with FIA has allowed SimBin to bring the detail in GTR to absurd levels. They claim that their car chassis are the most destructible ever rendered in a retail game, and I believe it -- I spent a good portion of my demo crashing into things (not always by intention), and the results are insane. You can read the full preview here and don't forget to view our game profile.

The AI for example ensures that the opponents are really fighting you. They've got balls - if you leave a little gap they get in it, they will force you into making mistakes and really defend their position by going off their lines. If they think that they can overtake you out of a corner they will try, again and again, until you or the opponent makes a mistake. The sheer amount of cars is impressive, same goes with variety of those cars, all of them are individual with their own characteristics, like in real life. The cars look exactly like their real life counterparts, sound like them and drive like them, what more can be asked for?
