F1RC Reviewed at High GearReviews/Previews | By Paul on 5 April 2001 18:33
High Gear has posted their F1 Racing Championship review today, written by Stephan Petrovic.
Here is an extract:
"After playing some preview versions and now the full version I have a pretty good idea on where F1RC stands. Atleast I think so. After spending many hours talking about the game with my good old friend (didn't mean to hurt you Rick with the "old" part) we had quite similar findings. One thing we couldn't agree on was the fact that Rick thought that the game played more like GP3 and I found this version very similar to the MGPRS2 title Ubi Soft released a couple of years back, more about that later though. While we are on that, here are some quick history notes. UbiSoft released their first racing title back in late '96, which was loved by some and hated by others. The game, which was called F1 Racing Simulation, had superb graphics, but suffered from a very understeeryyy driving model and unrealistic griplevels. In '98 we saw the release of Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2 which did not carry the official FOA license. That, by the way, was my first ever review here on High Gear (I never had the guts to tell him he was fired - Kenneth.)"
