I posted this message in the forums, but I suppose it would of been more apropriate as a news article :) So I've added it here too. My thanks to John for reminding me how to post news here.
I haven't been too active in the Simracingworld F1GP/WC section lately, partly due to personal commitments and also due to the fact that it's pretty quiet here these days. However, there are still people active here, and I should keep up my end of the bargain to ensure this site remains up-to-date with F1GP affairs. From now on, I will schedule weekly reviews in which I will review the current F1GP situation and post files/news if required. Please feel free to discuss any relevant issues in the forum, or directly with me via email.
My priority remains the track editor, if anybody is interested in developing an open-source product for editing the tracks and is seriously motivated enough to do so, I would be glad of your help. My belief is that previous attempts have failed due to a general lack of time, a problem which can be resolved by a programming team. I am prepared to act as one of the developers and I believe two more people would be neccessary to attain our goal in a reasonable timescale. Although the game doesn't have the popularity it once had, I hope there are at least two people who are interested in making some F1GP history, or frustrated like me that we never produced a working track editor despite the progress we made in reading the track files.
Anyway, just thought I'd post this short message to let you all know the current state of affairs.
