ARCA Sim Racing is a stock-car racing simulator developed by The Sim Factory LLC, a small American based computer software company devoted to the production of racing simulation software. The game simulates the 2007 ARCA Re/Max season. Many have anticipated this to be a very strong simulation while others relate this game to NASCAR Racing 2003 Season which was pulled off shelves because of a licensing agreement between EA sports and NASCAR.
Overview
ARCA Sim Racing is based off ISI's game engine, gmotor2, which was primarily designed for road racing simulators, like rFactor, not for an oval racing simulator. In August of 2006, The Sim Factory purchased the rights to use the gmotor2 engine in their game, and with the help of ISI, The Sim Factory was able to recode the engine to produce the most realistic stock car simulation to date.
The game is produced by a very small company consisting of about 10 devoted devlopers. The small development team has had recent setbacks but asure that all parts of the game will come in time, ultimately being released for pre-ordering on January 1st, 2008. The game shipped with 10 tracks that were scratch built to perfectly replicate the real life tracks.
