F1 Racing Championship is the third F1-game to be released by Ubisoft, after F1 Racing 1997 and Monaco Grand Prix 2 Racing Simulation. Back in 1997 there was a lot of debate about whether F1 Racing or Grand Prix 2 was the best simulation, so inevitably when Ubisoft announced F1 Racing Championship, there was a lot of speculation about whether it would beat Grand Prix 3. Fans were treated to jaw-dropping graphics and visuals, and it promised to include the features that were lacking from Grand Prix 3. However, when the game was released it became clear that the artificial intelligence of the other drivers was awful, and absolutely nowhere near on a par of Grand Prix 3. And because of this sole problem, this game has never made it into the all-time simulation classics.
