Frame rate
This card will run Incoming at around 102fps in 800X600 16 bit colour, and still run Quake II in 67fps in 1024x768. Considering the frame rate of this early beta card, the actual product will be amazing. These frame rates thrash the other cards and leave them standing.

The Voodoo 2 with Sli configuration will run Incoming 800x600 at 95fps, and the old Riva TNT will only run this at 77fps.

The Other Cards

There are many other cards to rival this, not to mention the Voodoo 3, but in my view this card is the winner. The Voodoo 3 is a great card, no doubt about it, but only has 16mb of memory, and only uses 16bit colour, the frame rates also suffer in comparison too.

The Savage 4 card has got 32mb of memory, but is too new to really write about, but it should appeal to people on a budget.

Price

At Insight UK the quoted price for a HERCULES RIVA TNT 2 as £140 ($234), quite cheap considering the price of the Voodoo 3, which is around the same price, but with the Savage 4 retailing at £85 ($142) this could affect early sales of the new cards.

Conclusion

The Riva TNT 2 Ultra is really looking good, a card that excels in all areas, forget the Voodoo 3, this is what to go for.

The frame rates on this card are amazing, and for a Beta card, this is unbelievable.

The only downside to this card is the price, the Savage 4 has much the same specs, but is a lot cheaper, we will just have to wait and see what happens.
