SRW: Ok, so has the game been tested by any real-life Rally drivers? If so, what were their impressions?

The game was tested by two rally pilots and two drivers. They all agreed that the basic premise we've started out with has been achieved. They came in during different parts of the development process and gave us indispensable advice, which helped in solving most of our issues and problems.

SRW: How realistic are the special sections from World Rally sites? How did you gather information to build these into the game?

Before we even started, we looked through hundreds of hours of TV footage from rallies all over the world, and talked to people who do this sort of thing for a living.

We've also visited some real life locations. All this helped us created the tracks in the game, which all are based on real life tracks. Rally fans will find places inspired by well known locales, including Monte Carlo, Corsica, Greece, Italy and the United Kingdom.

SRW: Going back to Richard Burns Rally, one of the popular aspects of that game is that it is possible to make adjustments and modifications to the game. This tends to keep the game "alive" for longer. How "moddable" will XRX be? Is this an aspect of the sim-racing community that you support?

XRX is much easier to edit than RBR. The editor that comes packed with the game allows you to create any map you like. There's also a large documentation available in PDF file format. Some websites we've seen host video tutorials on making your own XR mods.

We're planning on releasing the source models for all 3D objects in the game, so creating your own dream car will be even more simple. We're set on creating a community, so we've started http://xtremespeeds.xpandrally.com, where we're running all kinds of contests and we're planning other features too.

SRW: Ian Bell from Simbin stated the other day that there is a massive potential market for racing sims. Do you agree?

I think Ian Bell went to far with "massive”. Rally fans are a minority in the general car racing fans crowd. Just look at how popular Need for Speed and Flat Out are!

SRW: What projects will you be working on in the future? ?

As far as car games are concerned, that hasn't been decided on yet. Right now we're working on Call of Juarez for the Xbox 360, Warhound, Dead Island and Chrome 2.

All the best to the SimRacingWorld.com team!

Thanks to Adrian Ciszewski and Pawel Kopinski (Marketing Specialist) for taking the time out to exclusively answer some of our questions about Xpand Rally Xtreme. The game is due out later this year and much more information can be found on our game profile which is linked below.
