First up comes news that DIRT is being developed from the ground up, and being built with Codies' proprietary Neon engine. Currently in development for the last eighteen months, DIRT will be featuring a high-level of destructible objects from crumpling metal, shattering glass, and splintering trees. Air physics is also being implemented into the game, so that everything can be affect by the wind, as well as introducing slip-streaming effects.
Forty different rally cars will make an appearance in DIRT, across a dozen classes from 4WD, 2WD and Rear-Wheel drive, including McRae's R4 prototype and the almost iconic Suberu Impreza.
